About My Journey
I’m writing to you from Spain—but getting here looked nothing like I planned.
In 2019, I did what everyone said was crazy: I sold my house in the U.S., bought my first international property in Spain, and launched a location-independent business. I had a plan. I had clarity. I was ready.
Then COVID hit.
Everything went bankrupt. The business I built, the income I counted on, the timeline I’d mapped out—gone.
Here’s what no one tells you about reimagining your life: sometimes your Plan A crashes and burns. Sometimes you lose everything you built. And sometimes the path forward looks nothing like the vision board you created.
I could have gone back. Plenty of people did. But I didn’t build all of this just to retreat at the first major setback.
So I pivoted. I became a digital nomad and spent five years moving, rebuilding, learning what actually works versus what sounds good in theory. I tested every strategy, made mistakes, figured out what creates real sustainability, and discovered that failure isn’t the opposite of success—it’s part of the foundation.
Eventually, I settled back in Spain. Not because it was Plan A, but because after five years of living this lifestyle across multiple countries, I chose it with full clarity about what I actually wanted.
That journey—from bankruptcy to digital nomad to settled expat—taught me more than any success story ever could. It taught me resilience. It taught me that having a clear vision matters more than having a perfect plan. And it taught me that the pitfalls, the pivots, and the moments when everything falls apart are often what propel you into the life you’re actually meant to live.
That’s the foundation of RYL Abroad. Not the highlight reel. The whole story.
WHAT I DO
I blend my passion for technology and travel to create pathways for people—especially Black women—who are ready to step into location independence and build sustainable income streams that support the life they actually want to live.

MY BACKGROUND
I hold a Master’s degree in Education from Pace University in New York City and am an alumna of the NYC Teaching Fellows program. My Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies integrates Communications, Computer Sciences, and Adult Learning—which means I approach problem-solving with both creativity and systems thinking.
Before creating RYL Abroad, I worked in corporate America, owned and operated brick & mortar businesses and even joined the NYC Teaching Fellows cohort which landed me a Special Education Teaching role.
But here’s what matters most: I know what it’s like to stand at the crossroads of “stay comfortable” or “leap into the unknown.” I chose the leap—and I’m here to walk alongside you as you take yours.
